Eligibility
Due to service demands, the NCSB will prioritize intake admissions based on the following priority groups:
Pregnant females and women with children and who are using drugs and/or alcohol. This population must be seen within 48 hours; interim services (emergency services) must be explained as well (document this on the screening form). Typical referrals come from TANF and hospital post-partum units
Intravenous drug users (IDU). This population must be seen within 48 hours; interim services (emergency services) must be explained as well (document this on the screening form)
Individuals recently released from one of our regional reinvestment hospitals or crisis centers (Reinvestment clients).
Individuals who are HIV+ or have AIDS and are often referred to us from a Ryan White provider
Individuals recently released from the city jail who have prior authorization to receive treatment. Referrals are likely from Norfolk Criminal Justice Services or the local probation and parole office
Drug court/MH court referrals
Non-reinvestment hospital discharges with a serious mental illness diagnosis
NGRI- those determined to be not guilty by reason of insanity
