We offer HCV treatment through telemedicine for patients in Virginia. Patients identified as having positive HCV RNA should be treated. Curative treatment is available for hepatitis C with 8-12 weeks of Direct Acting Antiviral (DAA) oral medication with minimal, if any, side effects. Following treatment, a lab is needed in 12 weeks, checking the HCV PCR/RNA to determine cure.

Hepatitis C (Commonly called Hep C or HCV) HCV is an infection that passes from person-to-person through contact with HCV positive blood. You should get tested for Hep C if you: Are a current or former drug user who used needles or shared needles to inject, even if you only did this one time or did it many years ago. Have a sex partner who has chronic Hepatitis C or have had many sex partners. Rapid HCV testing produces results within 20 minutes. Similar to a rapid HIV test, a single drop of blood is required. A positive result must be confirmed by additional laboratory tests.
