AAt Community Access Network, our vision is that everyone has a medical home providing optimal individual and community wellness. We lead the way in creating a network of healthcare providers and organizations that prioritize health and compassion over bottom lines and will work to break down the barriers that keep individuals from getting the care they deserve. We serve everyone—regardless of age or insurance status. We want patients to understand that we—the staff, the doctors, the nurses— live, work and play in the same community as they do. When patients come to Community Access Network, they’re being treated by their neighbors, their fellow church members and those they see on the bus every morning. We want our patients to understand that their health is all that matters to us and that the quality of care they’ll receive will be consistent, courteous and compassionate. Our medical offices are open evening hours, and we offer same-day and walk-in services at some locations. We accept most insurances, including: PCHP, Optima, Anthem, Aetna, VAPremier, Tricare, Medicaid and Medicare.

The Virginia Disease Prevention Hotline provides toll-free lines to the Commonwealth of Virginia. Counselors answer questions and provide crisis intervention, referrals, and written educational materials regarding Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), HIV/AIDS, and Viral Hepatitis. Hotline hours are Monday-Friday from 8 am until 5 pm. The hotline is closed for Virginia State Holidays. When the Virginia Disease Prevention Hotline is closed, a recorded message refers callers to CDC-INFO, the CDC Hotline. The CDC Hotline may have extended hours of availability. Virginia Medication Assistance Program (VA MAP) Call Center Persons living with HIV can call the VA MAP Call Center for help with VA MAP programs. Named in honor of Romayne “Beth” Marschak, the program recognizes Beth’s more than two decades of dedicated service in DDP prior to her sudden passing in June 2026. Beth was a fierce advocate for the community, both through her work at VDH and through her longstanding community activism. She played a key role in establishing the DDP Condom Program and was instrumental in growing it into what it is today. The program now distributes more than half a million condoms each year through local health districts and community partners. The Division of Disease Prevention (DDP) organizes and distributes free condoms through the Beth Marschak Condom Program.  The program is aimed at reducing HIV and other sexually transmitted infections in Virginia through free and accessible condom access. Both local health districts and community partners are able to enroll in the program.  Organizations that participate in the program may order up to 100,000 condoms each year.  Agencies with multiple locations/sites may be approved to order more.  Smaller quantities of specialty condoms, such as insertive, non-latex, and Trojan condoms, are also available.

The Council of Community Services Drop-In Center provides access to information/education, resources and services in the prevention and care of HIV/STDs and Hepatitis C (HCV). NovaSalud is committed to providing care to people living with HIV regardless of their ability to pay. For those who are uninsured or underinsured, the Ryan White Program provides linkage to the Ryan White HIV care and supportive services. NovaSalud provides free confidential HIV, STI, and Hepatitis C counseling and testing for residents living in Virginia, D.C., and Maryland. Outreach testing has been the foundation of NovaSalud's successful HIV prevention program for the past decade. Appointments are available by phone, online scheduling, or walk-in. The Comprehensive Harm Reduction (CHR) Program is part of a larger Public Health strategy to reduce negative health outcomes for people who engage in substance use. NovaSalud Program incorporates a spectrum of strategies and evidence-based interventions that include overdose, HIV/HCV transmission, and other infection prevention. NovaSalud programs provide support to diverse community members in the DC metropolitan area.
