Our clinic serves patients who are fully uninsured, with no Medicare or Medicaid, low-income, below 200% of the federal poverty level and reside in Tazewell, Buchanan or Russell counties. The medical problems which plague this three-county area are diabetes, hypertension and depression, each feeding off the other. Some of our patients are working either full- or part-time jobs which do not provide health insurance or cannot afford it with the minimum wages being earned.

To ensure that each and every Alexandrian teen succeeds – physically, emotionally, socially, and academically – by collaboratively providing an easily accessible medical clinic at Alexandria High School. The Rockbridge Area Free Clinic (RAFC) serves low-income, uninsured residents of the Rockbridge area (Lexington, Buena Vista and Rockbridge County) who cannot otherwise afford or obtain health care services. All RAFC patients have incomes below 150% of the federal poverty guideline with the majority actually below 100% of the poverty guideline. The vast majority of RAFC patients work or belong to working families. Of the people currently seeking RAFC services, 65% have one or more chronic disease such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and/or asthma that require ongoing medical treatment and medication therapy. These diseases, when left unmanaged, are very expensive to treat. In addition, according to the latest census figures there are an approximately 4,000 area low-income residents that could qualify for RAFC care.

Community Health Center

The Harrisonburg-Rockingham Free Clinic provides free health care to individuals in our community who have no health insurance and are under 200% of the federal poverty level. Sixty percent of our clients are at or below 100% of the federal poverty level. Over 70% of our clients have one or more chronic diseases. About 70% percent of our clients are between the ages of 35 and 64.

Health centers, clinics, departments within hospitals, and other facilities that provide walk-in, walk-out diagnostic and treatment services for people whose care does not require confinement or a hospital stay.

Access to healthcare is a key element of any thriving community. With this in mind, Pathways Free Specialty Clinic is working with various partners to provide myriad health resources for Southside Virginia. Physicians and nurses volunteer their time to offer free services in the following areas: heart conditions, arthritis, sleep disorders, asthma, women?s breast health, and vaccinations for flu and Hepatitis B. We also provide education in nutrition, exercise, managing fibromyalgia, and more.

Community Health Center

Established in 1994, Arlington Free Clinic (AFC) continues to be Arlington’s only provider of comprehensive healthcare services for adults living with a low income and without health insurance. While there are approximately 10,000 uninsured adults in Arlington County, AFC is the medical home for over 1,600 of these underserved members of our community. Community Health Center

The Free Clinic of Pulaski County serves those in the community who are otherwise not served by Medicaid or Medicare, do not have private health insurance and whose income does not exceed 130% of the current Federal poverty guideline. Clinics are held Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons by appointment, from 10AM to 3PM every other Friday and on Thursday evenings beginning at 5:30 PM. The clinic also assists patients in accessing the Medication Assistance Programs of the various pharmaceutical manufacturers. In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2007, 826 individuals were served and 6,447 prescriptions were filled.
