The Virginia Disease Prevention Hotline provides toll-free lines to the Commonwealth of Virginia. Counselors answer questions and provide crisis intervention, referrals, and written educational materials regarding Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), HIV/AIDS, and Viral Hepatitis. Hotline hours are Monday-Friday from 8 am until 5 pm. The hotline is closed for Virginia State Holidays. When the Virginia Disease Prevention Hotline is closed, a recorded message refers callers to CDC-INFO, the CDC Hotline. The CDC Hotline may have extended hours of availability. Virginia Medication Assistance Program (VA MAP) Call Center Persons living with HIV can call the VA MAP Call Center for help with VA MAP programs. H.E.L.P. Free Clinic, located in Hampton, serves the low-income poor and working populations of Hampton and Newport News who do not have health insurance. We are an acute medical clinic which will see patients who earn less than 200% of the federal poverty level.

They started in 1970 as a community-based and patient-directed organization focused on providing care to people with limited access to the health services they need. They are committed to and must uphold a high level of care, meeting administrative, clinical, and financial standards as part of responsibility as a FQHC. They offer comprehensive care: medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and at some sites, x-ray services. The majority of their governing board is made up of their patients – at least 51% of board members must be representative of the patients they serve.

Located in a residential neighborhood, its location is confidential and provides comfortable shelter and support for you and your children. There is even a back yard to relax and play in. You are welcome to stay for up to one month at no cost. While with us, you will have access to a case manager who will help you plan your next steps, including helping you find a new place to live. Case management is also available for your children, as we know they too have been affected. Many services are available to you while you are with us, including assistance with finding a job and a new place to live. Your children will still attend school and you are able to continue working if you already have a job. Take advantage of as many or as few of the services we offer.

The Free Medical Clinic of Northern Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, Virginia, serves low-income, uninsured working residents of Frederick County, Winchester City, and Clarke County. Almost 100% of patients served by the Free Medical Clinic of Northern Shenandoah Valley have incomes at or below 150% of the federal poverty level. Approximately two-thirds of the FMC of Northern Shenandoah Valley patients have one or more chronic illnesses which require ongoing medication therapies, etc. ? In 2011 the Clinic provided 9366 patient visits, treated 1048 patients, and screened 532 new patients for services.

At the CARITAS Furniture Bank, we understand that paying rent is not the only financial obstacle to securing housing. We provide gently-used household essentials and furnishings to families and individuals in need in Richmond, Henrico, and Chesterfield. Clients must be referred to us by one of our Referral Partners, as we only schedule clients referred to us by our Partners. We charge a minimal program fee, and provide a volunteer personal shopper so that each client receives the items they need. Furniture and household essentials are given based on need and inventory available at the time of appointment. Depending on inventory, we are committed to providing beds, a sofa, a dining table, a dresser, and other essentials.
