Our mission is to offer affirming community-based health and wellness services to all with a special expertise in LGBTQ and HIV care. We empower all persons to live healthy, love openly, and achieve equality and inclusion. Through multiple locations throughout DC, we provide stigma-free care to anyone who walks through our doors. We are proud and honored to be a place where the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer communities, as well to those living with or affected by HIV feel supported, welcomed and respected. We strive to be a place where we see the person first; a healthcare home where you will be treated with the dignity, respect and love.

Primary care services; psychiatric services; individual psychotherapy and counseling; hormone therapy – in consultation with an endocrinologist; obstetrics/gynecological services; transgender clinic; vaccines; birth control (contraception); referral letters for surgery (including hysterectomy, transmasculine chest reconstruction, transfeminine breast augmentation, orchiectomy, facial plastic surgery) and for gender marker changes; referrals to other trans-competent resources provided, including gender confirmation surgeons.

LGBT Life Center is a trusted leader that empowers the LGBTQ communities and all people affected by HIV through improving health and wellness, strengthening families and communities, and providing transformative education and advocacy. We offer free HIV & STI testing services, housing services, medical services, case management, social support programming for the LGBTQ+ community, youth programming, senior programming, PrEP and HIV prevention services, mental health and counseling, and intimate partner violence crisis intervention. Central Virginia Health Services is a non-profit community health center with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status. They started in 1970 as a community-based and patient-directed organization focused on providing care to people with limited access to the health services they need. They are committed to and must uphold a high level of care, meeting administrative, clinical, and financial standards as part of responsibility as a FQHC. They offer comprehensive care: medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and at some sites, x-ray services. The majority of their governing board is made up of their patients – at least 51% of board members must be representative of the patients they serve.

Southern Dominion Health System, Inc. is a non-profit organization and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), committed to the health care of individuals and families of our community, regardless of race, religion or social status. We currently operate out of six (6) different Medical, Dental and Behavioral Health centers located in Lunenburg, Dinwiddie, Amelia and Greensville Counties. We are dedicated to providing health care to everyone, including the medically underserved, uninsured and underinsured. This health center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n). This health center has FTCA deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals.

We serve women— daughters, sisters, wives and mothers—who need structure and professional support in early recovery to build a solid basis for sustained sobriety. The Women’s Home addresses the special needs of women, with a focus on lifestyle changes. By accepting boundaries and personal responsibility, residents put in place new attitudes and new ways of living, transforming their liabilities into assets. Residents learn tools to stay sober and how to “live life on life’s terms.” It is one of the few such programs licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia. We are based on a strategy of accountability to structure, accepting guidance from staff and cultivating healthy relationships with women, learning to ask for and accept help. Residents align themselves with successful women in the recovery community, who have sustained long-term sobriety. With this new-found resource, residents recognize where they are at risk of relapsing and maintain the motivation to change their behavior.

Due to the Health Department’s role in the COVID-19 response, STI clinic availability has temporarily changed. Clinics occur at our East site on Monday and Wednesday afternoons and on Thursday mornings. Clinic occurs at our West site on Tuesday mornings. Appointments are required. Operating for 40+ years, Southeastern Virginia Health System (SEVHS) is the premier community-based health care initiative in Hampton Roads for the insured, uninsured, and underinsured. The 501(c)3 operates twelve sites, providing primary care and dental services to individuals and families. SEVHS physicians are board-certified and provide services in the areas of family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics/gynecology. With practices located in Newport News, Hampton, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, and Franklin, SEVHS also offers a number of other support services such as health education and nutrition counseling, case management, referrals to specialty care, medication assistance and on-site lab testing. Southeastern Virginia Health System is a member of the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) and the Virginia Community Healthcare Association (VACHA). SEVHS services over 25,000 patients annually.

The Arlington Recovery Center offers medically monitored and clinically managed intensive residential treatment services for Arlington County adult men and women. Operated for Arlington County, this adult rehabilitation center helps break the cycle of drug and alcohol misuse and equips patients with the tools needed to be successful at the next appropriate level of care.

Eastern Shore Rural Health is a Community Health Center Network committed to a healthy Eastern Shore. They provide medical, oral, and behavioral health care and support services to everyone in their community regardless of ability to pay. As primary health care providers, they serve patients and work with others to manage patients’ health needs in a safe, professional way that also respects the culture of every individual. Serving Virginia’s Eastern Shore with four medical centers, seven dental locations, and one urgent care center, they are the medical primary care provider of choice. In addition to primary medical and dental care, they offer behavioral health, pharmacy, and urgent care services as well as programs including health education, help obtaining prescriptions for those who can’t afford them on their own, digital x-ray, lab work, travel immunizations and more. Their electronic health records mean patients can be seen at any center and their complete medical history will be available.

MASS continues to work hard achieving our mission to assist in sustaining and improving health, protecting the dignity and encouraging independent living of people living with HIV/AIDS. Through this project MASS manages the provision of the Food Voucher Program throughout the Transitional Grant area to people who have HIV/AIDS and are eligible for Ryan White Part A services. MASS maintains and provides for clients an up-to-date resource listing for both the Virginia Peninsula Food Bank as well as the Food Bank of Southeastern Virginia. This service provides certificates/gift cards in increments of $25 based upon household composition. Certificates/gift cards may be redeemed for food at cooperating supermarkets such as: ALDI Farm Fresh Walmart Food Lion Vouchers are provided from retailers who offer produce, meat, and dairy items, as well as personal hygiene items. Certificates/gift cards cannot be used to purchase alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs or firearms. Certificates/gift cards may not be redeemed for cash.
