Central Virginia Health Services is a non-profit community health center with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status. They started in 1970 as a community-based and patient-directed organization focused on providing care to people with limited access to the health services they need. They are committed to and must uphold a high level of care, meeting administrative, clinical, and financial standards as part of responsibility as a FQHC. They offer comprehensive care: medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and at some sites, x-ray services. The majority of their governing board is made up of their patients – at least 51% of board members must be representative of the patients they serve.

ARS provides group, individual, and family counseling, and medication-assisted treatment in an intensive outpatient program focused on recovery.

The Free Medical Clinic of Northern Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, Virginia, serves low-income, uninsured working residents of Frederick County, Winchester City, and Clarke County. Almost 100% of patients served by the Free Medical Clinic of Northern Shenandoah Valley have incomes at or below 150% of the federal poverty level. Approximately two-thirds of the FMC of Northern Shenandoah Valley patients have one or more chronic illnesses which require ongoing medication therapies, etc. ?
