Named in honor of Romayne “Beth” Marschak, the program recognizes Beth’s more than two decades of dedicated service in DDP prior to her sudden passing in June 2026. Beth was a fierce advocate for the community, both through her work at VDH and through her longstanding community activism. She played a key role in establishing the DDP Condom Program and was instrumental in growing it into what it is today. The program now distributes more than half a million condoms each year through local health districts and community partners. The Division of Disease Prevention (DDP) organizes and distributes free condoms through the Beth Marschak Condom Program.  The program is aimed at reducing HIV and other sexually transmitted infections in Virginia through free and accessible condom access. Both local health districts and community partners are able to enroll in the program.  Organizations that participate in the program may order up to 100,000 condoms each year.  Agencies with multiple locations/sites may be approved to order more.  Smaller quantities of specialty condoms, such as insertive, non-latex, and Trojan condoms, are also available.

Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare, located in Staunton, Va., provides trauma-informed psychiatric residential treatment for young men. Our continuum of care is intended to meet the needs of adolescent males, ages 12 to 17, who are experiencing complex emotional, behavioral, and educational difficulties. Programs are specifically designed for youth with psychiatric disorders and co-occurring intellectual disabilities. We also specialize in working with young men who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Programs are offered at multiple levels of care to address the needs of each individual. Some youth may require a secure residential setting while others may benefit from a community-based residential treatment approach. Youth attend school and participate in vocational training at Liberty Point Academy located on the secure residential campus.

Access to healthcare is a key element of any thriving community. With this in mind, Pathways Free Specialty Clinic is working with various partners to provide myriad health resources for Southside Virginia. Physicians and nurses volunteer their time to offer free services in the following areas: heart conditions, arthritis, sleep disorders, asthma, women?s breast health, and vaccinations for flu and Hepatitis B. We also provide education in nutrition, exercise, managing fibromyalgia, and more.

The staff of Southern Dominion Health System, Inc. is dedicated to providing comprehensive, primary health care to individuals and families in need of its services. Care available at Southern Dominion Health System, Inc. includes infant and child care, adolescent medicine, primary gynecology, adult primary care, geriatrics, preventive health care, and minor surgery. Our medical staff is composed of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants. Each of our Family Practice Providers are Board Certified and continue to remain current through Continuing Medical Education as required by our Board of Directors. Our nursing staff is composed of Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Medical Assistants, supervised and directed by a Registered Nurse. Certified Radiologic Technologists provide radiology examinations at the medical centers with state-of-the-art x-ray equipment, including bone densitometry. Night, Weekend, and Emergency Services Southern Dominion Health System, Inc. provides for a 24 hour comprehensive medical provider availability should the need arise. When you need to reach us for an emergency or after-hours problem please call the office number to be connected to our after hours on-call service. The Alleghany Highlands Community Services Board is committed to improving the quality of life for individuals in our community with behavioral health challenges and developmental disabilities. AHCS is committed to preventing the occurrence of these conditions through an integrated community-based system of care. AHCS is committed to being responsive to individual needs and choices. Alleghany Highlands Community Services (AHCS) began in 1983 and is one of forty Community Services Boards and Behavioral Health Authorities established under the Code of Virginia to provide comprehensive services to individuals who have mental health disorders, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders. As the publicly funded safety net for service delivery, we must continuously monitor and evaluate our cost for services as well as the effectiveness of what we do. AHCS operates multiple service sites throughout the Alleghany Highlands, with over 127 employees working to support our services. We are proud to have served our community for 38 years. AHCSB is accountable to and licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) for the quality of care and fiscal accountability of the programs under its jurisdiction. AHCS is governed by a nine-person all-volunteer board appointed with members from each jurisdiction by local governing bodies – Alleghany County, Clifton Forge and the City of Covington. The Board members are people from the community with various occupations and interests who serve three-year terms of office.

The Bradley Free Clinic serves uninsured, or underinsured residents of the Roanoke Valley and surrounding areas. Free Clinic patients have income at or below 300% of the federal poverty level. The majority of all patients suffer from hypertension, obesity, diabetes, depression, and morbid obesity. Hepatitis C testing and treatment is offered at the Bradley Free Clinic

We are proud to offer all aspects of primary medical care and mental health, substance abuse and case management services to HIV positive individuals along with a history of delivering compassionate HIV/AIDS clinical and education services. Our convenient services are available at locations around Northern Virginia. We provide compassionate, dignified care to individuals regardless of their sex, race, background, sexual orientation, religious preference, financial status or insurance coverage.
