The Chris Atwood Foundation is a peer-driven community organization in Northern Virginia that works to provide FREE lifesaving recovery support and resources to people impacted by substance use, to create policy changes that serve the health and well-being of the community, and to help prevent substance use disorder. Addiction is a health condition that requires proper care & treatment. Recovery is possible and there are many pathways to recovery. People who use substances have a right to healthcare and dignity. Central Virginia Health Services is a non-profit community health center with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status. They started in 1970 as a community-based and patient-directed organization focused on providing care to people with limited access to the health services they need. They are committed to and must uphold a high level of care, meeting administrative, clinical, and financial standards as part of responsibility as a FQHC. They offer comprehensive care: medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and at some sites, x-ray services. The majority of their governing board is made up of their patients – at least 51% of board members must be representative of the patients they serve.

The A-NRHA focuses on developing rental housing and manages the regional Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. The Authority also owns several apartment complexes and continues work to provide a sufficient number of attractive and affordable rental units.

The Virginia Disease Prevention Hotline provides toll-free lines to the Commonwealth of Virginia. Counselors answer questions and provide crisis intervention, referrals, and written educational materials regarding Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), HIV/AIDS, and Viral Hepatitis. Hotline hours are Monday-Friday from 8 am until 5 pm. The hotline is closed for Virginia State Holidays. When the Virginia Disease Prevention Hotline is closed, a recorded message refers callers to CDC-INFO, the CDC Hotline. The CDC Hotline may have extended hours of availability. Virginia Medication Assistance Program (VA MAP) Call Center Persons living with HIV can call the VA MAP Call Center for help with VA MAP programs. Call center hours are Monday through Friday 8 am until 5 pm. The call center is closed for Virginia State Holidays. (855) 362-0658
