The Mission of the Virginia Department of Health is to protect the health and promote the well-being of all people in Virginia. The agency’s vision statement is “Become the healthiest state in the nation.”

The Virginia HIV Health Insurance Premium Assistance Program is designed to help pay the health insurance premiums of individual who have been diagnosed as HIV+ and may be unable to work within three months due to that diagnosis.

Our patients receive an exceptional level of care, reassured that their loved ones and visitors have many amenities available within the hospital so they can all be comfortable while staying close during difficult times. Emotional and substance abuse problems deserve the same attention as other health problems. They are treatable illnesses. Treatment means less suffering for individuals and their loved ones, less disruption in family life and the workplace. We provide outpatient assessment and treatment to those with depression, anxiety, chemical dependency, and other symptoms. Our professional staff offers outpatient individual, family, and group therapy to adults. We also provide substance abuse education.

Inova Juniper Program is Northern Virginia's largest provider of HIV/AIDS care. We are proud to offer all aspects of primary medical care and mental health, substance abuse and case management services to HIV positive individuals along with a history of delivering compassionate HIV/AIDS clinical and education services. Our convenient services are available at locations around Northern Virginia. We provide compassionate, dignified care to individuals regardless of their sex, race, background, sexual orientation, religious preference, financial status or insurance coverage. ARS Treatment Center in Charlottesville, VA is a CARF-accredited provider specializing in treating substance use disorders, including opiate treatment, methadone maintenance, and other substance abuse treatment. ARS provides group, individual, and family counseling, and medication-assisted treatment in an intensive outpatient program focused on recovery.

The Lloyd F. Moss Free Clinic serves low-income, uninsured adults who reside in the City of Fredericksburg and the Counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania, and Stafford. Approximately 90% of the clinic's patients have household incomes less than 125% of the federal poverty guidelines
