Operating for 40+ years, Southeastern Virginia Health System (SEVHS) is the premier community-based health care initiative in Hampton Roads for the insured, uninsured, and underinsured. The 501(c)3 operates twelve sites, providing primary care and dental services to individuals and families. SEVHS physicians are board-certified and provide services in the areas of family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics/gynecology. With practices located in Newport News, Hampton, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, and Franklin, SEVHS also offers a number of other support services such as health education and nutrition counseling, case management, referrals to specialty care, medication assistance and on-site lab testing. Southeastern Virginia Health System is a member of the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) and the Virginia Community Healthcare Association (VACHA). Central Virginia Health Services is a non-profit community health center with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status. We started in 1970 as a community based and patient-directed organization focused on providing care to people with limited access to the health services they need. We are committed to and must uphold a high level of care, meeting administrative, clinical, and financial standards as part of responsibility as a FQHC. We offer comprehensive care: medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and at some sites, x-ray services. The majority of our governing board is made up of our patients – at least 51% of board members must be representative of the patients we serve. Eastern Shore Rural Health is a Community Health Center Network committed to a healthy Eastern Shore. They provide medical, oral, and behavioral health care and support services to everyone in their community regardless of ability to pay. As primary health care providers, they serve patients and work with others to manage patients’ health needs in a safe, professional way that also respects the culture of every individual. Serving Virginia’s Eastern Shore with four medical centers, seven dental locations, and one urgent care center, they are the medical primary care provider of choice. In addition to primary medical and dental care, they offer behavioral health, pharmacy, and urgent care services as well as programs including health education, help obtaining prescriptions for those who can’t afford them on their own, digital x-ray, lab work, travel immunizations and more. Their electronic health records mean patients can be seen at any center and their complete medical history will be available.

NVFS’ Multicultural Center provides a wide range of immigration legal, mental health, and case management services, particularly for individuals and families new to the United States. Programs that provide inoculations or other prophylactic measures to prevent susceptible individuals from contracting specific diseases for which means of control have been developed including immunizations recommended specifically for newborns and young children, booster shots to prevent the occurrence of childhood illnesses in adolescence and adulthood, inoculations recommended specifically for pregnant individuals and immunizations against illnesses such as shingles and pneumonia for older adults.

ARS Treatment Center in Charlottesville, VA is a CARF-accredited provider specializing in treating substance use disorders, including opiate treatment, methadone maintenance, and other substance abuse treatment. ARS provides group, individual, and family counseling, and medication-assisted treatment in an intensive outpatient program focused on recovery.

Metro TeenAIDS, founded in 1988, is a community health organization dedicated to supporting young people in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Through education, support, and advocacy, MTA provides HIV testing and counseling to prevent the spread of HIV. MTA promotes responsible decision-making through its in-school and after-school school programs, and improves the quality of life for young people who are HIV-positive, at risk of HIV infection, or in families with HIV/AIDS. MTA is the only organization in the Washington, DC area focused solely on the needs of youth as they relate to HIV and AIDS.

Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Virginia offers reproductive health and family planning services to the community. Additionally we provide comprehensive, medically accurate sex education to faith based groups and other community members.

NovaSalud is committed to providing care to people living with HIV regardless of their ability to pay. For those who are uninsured or underinsured, the Ryan White Program provides linkage to the Ryan White HIV care and supportive services. NovaSalud provides free confidential HIV, STI, and Hepatitis C counseling and testing for residents living in Virginia, D.C., and Maryland. Outreach testing has been the foundation of NovaSalud's successful HIV prevention program for the past decade. Appointments are available by phone, online scheduling, or walk-in. The Comprehensive Harm Reduction (CHR) Program is part of a larger Public Health strategy to reduce negative health outcomes for people who engage in substance use. NovaSalud Program incorporates a spectrum of strategies and evidence-based interventions that include overdose, HIV/HCV transmission, and other infection prevention. NovaSalud programs provide support to diverse community members in the DC metropolitan area. The Council of Community Services Drop-In Center provides access to information/education, resources and services in the prevention and care of HIV/STDs and Hepatitis C (HCV).
