We are proud to offer all aspects of primary medical care and mental health, substance abuse and case management services to HIV positive individuals along with a history of delivering compassionate HIV/AIDS clinical and education services. Our convenient services are available at locations around Northern Virginia. We provide compassionate, dignified care to individuals regardless of their sex, race, background, sexual orientation, religious preference, financial status or insurance coverage. HSZ&W is a statewide 501(c)3 non-profit offering weekly support meetings for parents, caregivers, and adult family members of transgender and gender-diverse individuals. Opportunities monthly to connect and learn with others including: virtual and in-person, morning and evening, plus Orientation, BIPOC, and Interfaith meetings. The Lackey Free Clinic is a faith-based free health ministry, and serves patients who live in Williamsburg, York County, and Newport News. We provide medical, dental and mental health care as well as prescriptions to individuals residing in the area who fall below 200% of the federal poverty level and are not insured. Many of our patients work multiple part-time jobs or full-time jobs but do not have health benefits.

American Addiction Treatment Center in Newport News, VA, offers medication-assisted treatment, including methadone and buprenorphine (Suboxone) to effectively treat opiate use disorder. Our Outpatient Treatment Center for men and women will begin the treatment process with a clinical evaluation and create a personalized treatment plan. Through individual and group therapy, the goal of treatment is stabilization and eventual discontinued use of any medications. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Stages of Change, and Motivational Interviewing (MI), Relapse prevention, education classes, and 12-step programs are integrated into the program to support ongoing recovery. Pregnant/expecting women welcome. Medicaid and Out of Network benefits accepted.

Transitional Residential Substance Use Disorder Services

Independence House is a nationally-accredited, transitional program that serves male and female residents of Arlington County who have recently completed a primary treatment program. Clients in the early stages of recovery begin to face responsibilities of independent living in a hopeful, supportive atmosphere?working, taking part in job training, or attending school during the day and returning to the facility during the evening. Dedicated counselors, as well as our medical and psychiatric staff, bring a cognitive-behavioral, 12-step approach to support groups. Client groups emphasize self-esteem, interpersonal relationships, and recovery skills. Length of stay varies determined by individual progress and need.

At Rehabilitation Hospital of Bristol, a joint venture of Ballad Health and Encompass Health, we are committed to helping you regain independence after a life-changing illness or injury. Located in Bristol and serving the Tri-Cities area, we are a leading provider of inpatient rehabilitation for stroke, brain injury and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions. Using clinical collaboration and advanced technologies, we provide a personalized care plan designed to meet your unique needs and help you achieve your goals. Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital uses an interdisciplinary team approach that includes physical, speech and occupational therapists, rehabilitation physicians, rehabilitation nurses, case managers, dietitians and more, combined with our advanced technology and expertise, to help you achieve your goals. You will receive at least three hours of therapy five days per week while under the constant care of registered nurses, many of whom specialize in rehabilitation, and frequent independent private practice physician* visits. Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. Our hospital has contracts with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies, as needed. *The hospital provides access to independent physicians.
