Operating for 40+ years, Southeastern Virginia Health System (SEVHS) is the premier community-based health care initiative in Hampton Roads for the insured, uninsured, and underinsured. The 501(c)3 operates twelve sites, providing primary care and dental services to individuals and families. SEVHS physicians are board-certified and provide services in the areas of family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics/gynecology. With practices located in Newport News, Hampton, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, and Franklin, SEVHS also offers a number of other support services such as health education and nutrition counseling, case management, referrals to specialty care, medication assistance and on-site lab testing. Southeastern Virginia Health System is a member of the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) and the Virginia Community Healthcare Association (VACHA). SEVHS services over 25,000 patients annually.

The Virginia Disease Prevention Hotline provides toll-free lines to the Commonwealth of Virginia. Counselors answer questions and provide crisis intervention, referrals, and written educational materials regarding Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), HIV/AIDS, and Viral Hepatitis. Hotline hours are Monday-Friday from 8 am until 5 pm. The hotline is closed for Virginia State Holidays. When the Virginia Disease Prevention Hotline is closed, a recorded message refers callers to CDC-INFO, the CDC Hotline. The CDC Hotline may have extended hours of availability. Virginia Medication Assistance Program (VA MAP) Call Center Persons living with HIV can call the VA MAP Call Center for help with VA MAP programs. The Fairfax Detoxification Center is a short-term residential program for adults who need help to safely detoxify from the effects of drugs and/or alcohol. Length of stay depends upon the individual’s condition and ability to stabilize. The center provides: Clinically managed (social) and medical detoxification; Buprenorphine detoxification; Daily acupuncture (acudetox); Health, wellness, and engagement services; Assessment for treatment services; HIV/HCV/TB education; Universal precautions education; Case management services; Referral services for follow-up and appropriate care; and An introduction to the 12-Step recovery process. The residential setting is monitored continuously for safety by trained staff. The environment is designed to promote rest, reassurance and recovery. Call 703-502-7000 for admission information. DIVERSION TO DETOX A mobile team of CSB staff which responds to police and community requests to intervene at the scene of a potential arrest to refer the individual instead to detoxification services. MEDICATION-ASSISTED TREATMENT The Addiction Medicine Clinic (AMC) at the CSB's Merrifield Center provides medication-assisted detoxification services and substance abuse treatment to adults in an outpatient setting. Using the clinic's services allows individuals to remain in their community throughout their treatment, if appropriate. The clinic also provides counseling services and referrals for additional treatment as needed. Find out more about medication-assisted treatment.

The Legal Aid Justice Center offers free legal services to low-income families in the cities of Colonial Heights, Hopewell and Petersburg and the counties of Charles City, Dinwiddie, Prince George and Surry. We serve at risk children, low-wage immigrant workers, institutionalized persons, and other vulnerable populations through individual legal representation in civil actions, community education and organizing and statewide advocacy. Legal Aid Justice Center works to alleviate our clients' immediate problems while addressing the systematic issues that keep people in poverty.

Central Virginia Health Services is a non-profit community health center with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status. They started in 1970 as a community-based and patient-directed organization focused on providing care to people with limited access to the health services they need. They are committed to and must uphold a high level of care, meeting administrative, clinical, and financial standards as part of responsibility as a FQHC. They offer comprehensive care: medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and at some sites, x-ray services. The majority of their governing board is made up of their patients – at least 51% of board members must be representative of the patients they serve.

The Orange County Free Clinic is an all-volunteer based organization dedicated to the belief that everyoneshould have access to health care services. Our mission is to provide primary medical care to uninsured residents of Orange County who do not have the resources to obtain these basic health care needs. We also provide prescriptions and dental extractions. Our patients are at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level
