The Fauquier County Health Department is a local office of the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Health. It is a State entity that provides environmental health services, including the issuance of well and sewage disposal or septic permits, and clinic services to the citizens of Fauquier County. While providing services to the citizens of Fauquier County, it is not a department of the Fauquier County government. The Fauquier County Health Department is a part of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Health District which is headquartered in the Environmental Health Services office in Warrenton. The Rappahannock-Rapidan Health District also includes the counties of Rappahannock, Culpeper, Madison, and Orange. American Addiction Treatment Center in Newport News, VA, offers medication-assisted treatment, including methadone and buprenorphine (Suboxone) to effectively treat opiate use disorder. Our Outpatient Treatment Center for men and women will begin the treatment process with a clinical evaluation and create a personalized treatment plan. Through individual and group therapy, the goal of treatment is stabilization and eventual discontinued use of any medications. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Stages of Change, and Motivational Interviewing (MI), Relapse prevention, education classes, and 12-step programs are integrated into the program to support ongoing recovery. Pregnant/expecting women welcome. Medicaid and Out of Network benefits accepted.

The inpatient center is Maryview Behavioral Medicine Center, located on the campus of Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth. Chemical Dependency Consultation and Intervention Services This service is designed to recognize and treat chemical dependency in medical/surgical patients and to reduce the complications associated with chemical dependency. Service is provided by selectively trained members of Maryview's chemical dependency service, and includes medical, nursing and counseling services.
