Central Virginia Health Services is a non-profit community health center with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status. They started in 1970 as a community-based and patient-directed organization focused on providing care to people with limited access to the health services they need. They are committed to and must uphold a high level of care, meeting administrative, clinical, and financial standards as part of responsibility as a FQHC. They offer comprehensive care: medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and at some sites, x-ray services. The majority of their governing board is made up of their patients – at least 51% of board members must be representative of the patients they serve.

Southside Treatment Center provides opioid addiction treatment and recovery in Richmond and surrounding areas including Bensley, Bellwood, Chester, Chesterfield, Wilkinson Terrace and Midlothian. Southside TC has a dedicated team of treatment specialists including doctors, nurses and counselors to provide comprehensive care to each patient.

Programs that provide comprehensive medical services on an inpatient or outpatient basis for people who have symptomatic or asymptomatic HIV infections or a clinical AIDS diagnosis. An HIV diagnosis follows a reactive test for the HIV virus; however, a diagnosis of AIDS is given by a physician only if an individual's CD4 cell count is below 200 or if the individual develops certain opportunistic infections. Given that effective treatment is available for individuals who have been diagnosed with HIV, it is likely that someone who is adherent to treatment will never receive an AIDS diagnosis.

We connect others with the services they need to help them in their struggle against substance abuse whether that be a detox center, an inpatient or outpatient treatment program, mental health services or just an empathetic ear. As people in recovery ourselves, we have personally experienced the highs and lows of addiction and the recovery process and understand in a way that most others can’t the process of beating addiction. Through our experiences, we’ve learned how important it is to lend a hand to others in need, even when they don’t realize that they need it. Figuring out where to start and what your options are can be confusing. We know, because we’ve been there. That’s why we’ve created Your First Step, to provide a resource for the men and women who don’t quite know where to begin when it comes to seeking treatment for addiction.

Community Services Board Chesapeake Integrated Behavioral Healthcare (CIBH) offers an array of services and supports to meet the behavioral health needs of our community. From developmental services for infants to children and adults struggling with anxiety, depression or drug addiction. Currently, they only accept residents of Chesapeake.
