NovaSalud is committed to providing care to people living with HIV regardless of their ability to pay. For those who are uninsured or underinsured, the Ryan White Program provides linkage to the Ryan White HIV care and supportive services. NovaSalud provides free confidential HIV, STI, and Hepatitis C counseling and testing for residents living in Virginia, D.C., and Maryland. Outreach testing has been the foundation of NovaSalud's successful HIV prevention program for the past decade. Appointments are available by phone, online scheduling, or walk-in. The Comprehensive Harm Reduction (CHR) Program is part of a larger Public Health strategy to reduce negative health outcomes for people who engage in substance use. NovaSalud Program incorporates a spectrum of strategies and evidence-based interventions that include overdose, HIV/HCV transmission, and other infection prevention. NovaSalud programs provide support to diverse community members in the DC metropolitan area. Community Health Center

Harrisonburg-Rockingham Community Services Board is a leading provider in mental health, substance abuse, and developmental services. They are one of 40 community-based public providers of mental health, substance abuse, and developmental disability services throughout Virginia. The Commonwealth has designated the 40 CSBs as the single point of entry into publicly funded behavioral health and developmental services. HRCSB is supported through local, state and federal funds. They provide an array of programs and support directly, and through partnerships with other providers.

Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare (BRBH) is the Community Services Board serving adults, children and families with mental health disorders, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders in the Roanoke Valley of Virginia. We serve residents of the Cities of Roanoke and Salem, and the Counties of Botetourt, Craig, and Roanoke.

The Rockbridge Area Free Clinic (RAFC) serves low-income, uninsured residents of the Rockbridge area (Lexington, Buena Vista and Rockbridge County) who cannot otherwise afford or obtain health care services. All RAFC patients have incomes below 150% of the federal poverty guideline with the majority actually below 100% of the poverty guideline. The vast majority of RAFC patients work or belong to working families. Of the people currently seeking RAFC services, 65% have one or more chronic disease such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and/or asthma that require ongoing medical treatment and medication therapy. These diseases, when left unmanaged, are very expensive to treat. In addition, according to the latest census figures there are an approximately 4,000 area low-income residents that could qualify for RAFC care.

Central Virginia Health Services is a non-profit community health center with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status. They started in 1970 as a community-based and patient-directed organization focused on providing care to people with limited access to the health services they need. They are committed to and must uphold a high level of care, meeting administrative, clinical, and financial standards as part of responsibility as a FQHC. They offer comprehensive care: medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and at some sites, x-ray services. The majority of their governing board is made up of their patients – at least 51% of board members must be representative of the patients they serve.

The Roanoke Valley Mental Health Care Collaborative provides free mental health assessments, psychiatric care and medication management, access to medications and counseling to uninsured adults who are not eligible for mental health treatment in any other system of care available in our community. More than 95% of our clients have income at less than 150% of the federal poverty level. Services provided through the collaborative decrease the severity of symptoms of psychiatric disorders, improve performance at work or school, strengthen personal and family relationships and enhance the quality of day-to-day functioning for our clients, thereby reducing both human suffering and the economic and societal costs resulting from untreated mental illnesses.
